  1. what is it a walk way or drive way…if walk way not really if driveway yes you need some wire…stuff not sure of the name but call the home stores and they’ll tell you what you need. I used just some old fencing i had cause the drive way was small area i had to do and it looks great and seems to be very strong no cracks and it is on an incline…

  2. i remember seeing my dad doing it once and yes you have to put wire.
sorry i cant really help but thats all i know! 😛

  3. Concrete slabs must have reinforcing through them or they’ll crack. The reinforcing used is generally sheet steel mesh or rods.
This steel should be suspended above the ground (so it’s in around the middle of the slab) to prevent it rusting.
I have included a link below to very handy document.
Note that it is a downloadable PDF that will download as soon as you click the link.

  4. there are a lot of misconceptions in these answers…you can use wire mesh or rebar or both but they’ll eventually rust no matter where you put them…they don’t prevent cracking , they prevent heaving and separating of the slab when it cracks…proper jointing will make it crack where you want it to and be less obvious…i skip the mesh and use fiber re-inforced concrete…no rust and it does the same job as the mesh…they now use a micro-fiber that is not noticeable when finished…
