  1. Being a carpenter gave him more free time to be a hippy.

  2. Just because it was predominant does not mean it was the only occupation.

  3. So you’re saying you know there was no wood…no furniture made of wood. Everything that was built was out of stone. Prove it. You know you’re wrong.

  4. What makes you think so? Stone wasn’t that easy to come across, at least not for building purposes. Anyway, I think there would always be a place for a man who could carpent.

  5. Jesus hung out with twelve guys in robes who supplied Him with Wood.

  6. Because of these statements:
    Mat 13:55
Is this not the carpenter’s son? Is not His mother called Mary? And His brothers James, Joses, Simon, and Judas?

    Mark 6:3
Is this not the carpenter, the Son of Mary, and brother of James, Joses, Judas, and Simon? And are not His sisters here with us? So they were offended at Him.

Both of these gospel accounts tell us that He was in His own country. He was among people who had knowledge Him, and watched Him grow up.

  7. It was a historical fact, and it was recorded in The Gospels.

Why is Einstein thought to have been a patent clerk when the predominant trade was in agriculture in that area?

  8. Carpentry was an upper class’ artisan craft occupation. Trees of furniture-grade wood are rare and expensive in the middle east. Only a true artisan would be trained (apprenticed) to work as a carpenter. The Bible tells us that Joseph was a carpenter — and most children followed in their family business. This would have been very lucrative occupation, and Joseph would have been able to get a job anywhere (which is probably how he supported his family in Egypt).
