  1. it went from a five star attraction to a side show status

  2. The media and computer usage have changed the political landscape drastically. And often to our peril, since before these things were easily accessible, the PEOPLE had to research without the help of TV, phones and computers to help them in their voting decisions.

  3. It probably hasn’t changed all that much. The only difference is that unlike then, we have twenty four hour news feeds, and have access to more news sources than ever, thanks to the internet.

  4. Read history, it hasn’t, with the exception of the technology used to spread the news of political events. It was as fractured a political environment then as it is now. In fact, the first President in the 20th century was assassinated.

  5. Following the political landscape for the last one hundred years or so, it would appear to see-saw, some good years and some not so good. If 1 had to predict the present landscape it would be very cloudy without guidance. This can be embellished upon but there is no point since this arena isn’t taken very seriously.
