What should i use to glue at piece of flagstone to a slab of cement?

I have a piece of flagstone approx. one ft x three ft and I need to secure it to a slab of cement. Any suggestions for the best product to use in order to accomplish this? Thanks

  1. mortar mix applied carefully following mixing instructions

  2. Use a mixture of Portland cement and sand to permanently attach the flagstones to the concrete. Mix 1 part of cement to 3 parts sand. Coarse sand is better for this purpose as it contains pieces of rounded rock about 1/8 inch in diameter. This coarse sand makes a very strong mortar.

  3. A stone mason who taught me a bunch of stuff worth knowing put me on to PL Premium Construction Adhesive. Tube section any place. It will literally bond anything to anything. It has enough flex remaining with age that it won’t crack off with shock. Apply on dust free surfaces. I have used it on everything from bonding sheet metal/car bodies to rock/rock to cedar shingles/cement foundation.
